This talk will provide an overview of the challenges the industry is facing, including the limitations of air-cooling solutions , the rising energy consumption, and the need for more efficient and sustainable cooling solutions.

This presentation will delve into the advancements in liquid cooling technologies, which offer a more efficient and sustainable solution for managing the thermal loads of today's data centers. Liquid cooling systems are designed to handle the high heat densities associated with AI workloads, providing superior cooling performance compared to traditional air-cooling methods. Attendees will gain insights into the principles of liquid cooling, its benefits over traditional methods, and the transition process from air-cooled to liquid-cooled systems.

Andrei Capraru is an Associate Mechanical Engineer at Arup, a global collective of designers, engineers, planners, and technical experts dedicated to supporting sustainable development. With over 14 years of experience, Andrei has a proven track record of managing and leading engineering projects for data centers worldwide, including in the UAE, UK, Denmark, and the USA. He leads multidisciplinary teams at all stages of a project, including site due diligence, design, construction, testing, commissioning, and operational reviews, ensuring efficiency and resiliency in data center operations. Andrei is helping clients navigate new and emerging technologies, including the demand for AI data center development, which is leading to more and larger sites being developed.
