In this special holiday event, explore how generations of Virginians past have celebrated the Christmas season! See the lavish table spread for the Randolph family’s Twelfth Night ball, discover the Victorian origins of stockings and Santa Claus, and learn about the important role music played in the celebrations of free and enslaved Black Virginians. After the tour, be sure to finish your evening with a cup of hot cider and an 18th century-style jumble cookie or two. Friday, December 13th and Saturday, December 14th from 5-7pm! Advance registration required.
Tours begin on the hour and last approximately 40 minutes. Note to parents: this tour discusses the history of Santa Claus!
