About this Event
This year marks 25 years of Open Doors Youth Service standing proudly beside LGBTIQ+SB young people in Queensland. For a quarter of a century, we’ve walked alongside them through the highs, the heartbreaks, the breakthroughs and the battles. In a world that too often tries to silence queer and trans voices, our presence is powerful, our joy is defiant and our legacy is still being written.
To honour this milestone, we invite you to join us for an exclusive fundraising dinner at the Museum of Brisbane. This one-of-a-kind evening includes a private preview of Shimmer — a bold and groundbreaking exhibition by internationally acclaimed artist Gerwyn Davies, created in collaboration with trans and gender diverse young people. Gerwyn will attend as guest of honour, bringing sponsors and guests into direct connection with this landmark cultural moment.
Alongside a bespoke dining experience, guests will be treated to unforgettable drag performances and the excitement of a live auction investing in the future of LGBTIQ+ youth. Together, we’ll celebrate resilience, creativity, and community, while raising essential funds to ensure Open Doors continues providing safe spaces, vital support, and connection for the next generation.
Join us as we celebrate the past, protect the present, and invest in a brighter future — helping us keep our doors open for another 25 years.
