Mark Anzac Day with a special heritage fundraiser event at one of Brisbane’s iconic churches. Queensland’s premier Catholic WWI memorial and spiritual home to the Polish community is turning 100! As the sun goes down, a guided tour will take you inside the church to see the unique honour roll of 1,824 soldiers, sailors and nurses who died in the Great War. Then we gather outdoors under the light of the blue cross for a poignant Last Post Ceremony. The story of this city landmark will be narrated against a backdrop of stirring music and image projections, featuring Warwick Adeney (former QSO concertmaster) and Brad Esbensen (musical director, Brisbane Big Band). Enjoy a drink and canapés while you explore the fascinating exhibition of people and events which have shaped this place, known as the White Temple of Peace. Merchandise + commemorative publication on sale. Fundraiser event for one of Qld’s heritage gems. Street and onsite parking available. In wet weather, event will go ahead indoors.Tickets and all details on Trybooking
