KCIA FOD Walk 2024
King County International Airport is opening its doors to the community and general aviation community to host a FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Walk! Taking place on its large runway (14R/32L), the purpose of this event is to remove any potential hazardous objects from the airfield. This is an outside event in a loud environment with long distances of walking involved.
Please arrive and park at the Museum of Flight (9404 E Marginal Way S, Seattle, WA 98108). Participants will be given bags and grabbers to remove any potential debris from the runway's surface. There will be food, beverages and giveaways in the Museum of Flight's parking lot. This event is only limited to 250 people. Participants must be at least 14 years old, unless accompanied by an adult.
Check-in will be between 7:00 am and 8:00 am; there will be a mandatory safety briefing at 8:15 am, and everyone must be on the buses for the runway no later than 8:30 am. Latecomers cannot be accommodated due to the timing of the opening and closing of the runway.
Everyone in your party must a waiver form to participate in the FOD walk (1 form for each participant 14 years and older). People may be turned away if the liability waiver is not completed and submitted on the day of the event. If you are bringing a minor, please fill out a waiver for them. There will be a separate link for the minor waiver form.
