About this Event
King County International Airport is opening its doors to the community and general aviation community to host a FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Walk on its large runway (14R/32L). The purpose is to remove any potential hazardous objects from the airfield. This is an outside event in a loud environment with long distances of walking involved. Please arrive and park at the Museum of Flight (9404 E Marginal Way S, Seattle, WA 98108). Participants will be given bags and grabbers to remove any potential debris from the runway's surface. There will be a cook-out and door prizes at the end of the walk in the Museum of Flight's parking lot. This event is only limited to 120 people. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Check-in by 8:00 a.m., there will be a safety briefing at 8:15 a.m., and everyone must be on buses for the runway no later than 8:30 a.m. Late comers cannot be accommodated due to the timing of the opening and closing of the runway.
