The Korean Cultural Center to Belgium presents an exclusive selection of 10 distinguished Korean performances in 2025, curated to bring the finest in classical music, jazz, traditional Korean music, and contemporary dance.

As part of the Benelux tour, this concert brings together talented young soloists who have already proven their brilliance on the international stage. Violinist Dayoon You, violist Sejune Kim, cellist Woochan Jung, and pianist Yul Sun are not only prizewinners of major competitions but also demonstrate a profound musical dialogue when they come together.

Dayoon You (violin)

Violinist Dayoon You has garnered international attention by winning Second Prize at the 2023 Long-Thibaud International Competition and receiving an award at the 2024 Queen Elisabeth Competition. Actively performing in solo and concerto appearances, she demonstrates a deep passion for chamber music, which includes winning First Prize in the String Quartet division at the 2023 Salzburg Mozart Competition. She currently performs on a 1774 Guadagnini Turin violin, generously supported by the Kumho Cultural Foundation.

Sejune Kim (viola)

Violist Sejune Kim made headlines in 2019 as the first Asian to be appointed Principal Viola for life with Germany’s NDR Radiophilharmonie. He won Second Prize at the 2018 Tokyo International Viola Competition and achieved exceptional results in chamber music as a member of the Abel Quartet, including Third Prize at the Geneva International Music Competition. Currently, he maintains an active performance schedule as the NDR Principal while also nurturing young talent by teaching at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. 

Woochan Jeong (cello)

Cellist Woochan Jeong gained attention as a rising star by being a laureate at the prestigious 2022 Queen Elisabeth International Competition. He proved his exceptional skill with Second Prize at the 2022 Isang Yun International Competition and Fourth Prize at the Paulo International Cello Competition. In addition to solo and concerto engagements, he demonstrates a deep passion for chamber music as a member of the Eden Quartet. He currently performs on a Giovanni Paolo Maggini, Brescia c.1600 instrument, generously supported by the Kumho Cultural Foundation.

Youl Sun (piano)

Pianist Youl Sun is a next-generation artist known for his unique technical brilliance and profound musicality. In 2024, he achieved an impressive triple crown (including First Prize) at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition and was the co-winner of the Seoul International Music Competition. Gaining attention across Europe, he demonstrates a great passion for chamber music, having co-founded the ‘Harang Duo’ with fellow pianist Jae Sung Bae. He is currently supported by the arts program of the Chung Mong-Koo Foundation.
