KC Bariatric is thrilled to announce our 5K Celebration Walk/Run, scheduled for September 14th. This is not just a run, it's a celebration of the remarkable journeys and milestones of our patients who have shown remarkable strength and courage in their pursuit of a healthier lifestyle.
We extend a warm welcome not just to our brave patients, but also their family, friends, and anyone else in our supportive community. Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a keen walker, or someone who just wants to show their support, this is an event for you.
This inspiring day aims to unite us all, celebrating our shared commitment to health, resilience, and the human spirit. It is a day to not only recognize the incredible strides our patients have made, but also to celebrate the possibility of what we can all achieve when we set our minds to it.
Not a runner? No worries! The atmosphere of camaraderie, joy, and mutual support will be just as invigorating. There will be food, drinks, live music, and activities for all to enjoy.

Date & Time: September 14th, starting at 8:00 am
Registration: Participants can register beforehand on the bottom floor of Building A, located at 23351 Prairie Star Pkwy. Look for signs directing you to the conference room.
Event Start: After registration, join us for the start of the event. It's just a short walk from the hospital, at the beginning of Hedge Lane Terrace.
Course: The course is a straightforward 5K out and back along Hedge Lane which will be completely closed off to traffic. This route is suitable for both runners and walkers, providing a manageable but meaningful challenge.
Post-Race Celebration: Upon finishing, don't rush off! We'll have food, water, and a live DJ. It's a great chance to relax, refuel, and enjoy some well-deserved fun.
Raffle: After the race, we'll be hosting an exciting raffle with fantastic prizes! Stay tuned for the big reveal of what you can win!

Event T-Shirts
T-Shirts will be included in your registration! For those who register after August 25th, we are unable to guarantee the availability of your preferred t-shirt size during packet pickup. However, please rest assured that we will arrange to have it mailed to you as soon as it becomes available.

Event Registration / Packet Pickup Information
Registration and packet pickups will be located in the first-floor conference room of Building A at the Advent Health Lenexa Complex, 23351 Prairie Star Pkwy, Lenexa, KS 66227, at the following times:
Support Group, Tuesday, 9/3: 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Friday, 9/13: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Morning of the Event: Saturday, 9/14: 8:00 AM - 9:45 AM

Event Parking Information
Parking spaces will be available at the north and west corners of the parking lot. Cones and volunteers will be present to assist and guide you to the appropriate parking spaces. Please avoid parking near the emergency room area to ensure clear access for emergency vehicles.

The After-Party
After the race, make your way to our festive venue located at the northeast end of the parking lot! That’s where the beats will be playing, snacks will be available, and camaraderie will be in the air! Plus, be ready for the raffle draw starting approximately at 9:15 AM.

FAQ
How far is a 5K? A 5K is 3.1 miles.
Do I have to run/walk the whole distance? The course is structured as an out-and-back route, so participants can decide to turn around whenever they feel the need. Additionally, transportation is available to assist anyone who requires a lift.
Are kids allowed? Absolutely! Children are welcome to join. However, a waiver for minors must be filled out and signed during the registration on the event morning.
Are pets allowed? We regret to inform you that pets are not allowed for this particular event.
