An original folk ballet inspired by Ukrainian fairytales, KAZKA has been created by Melanie Moravski Dechnicz, one of only two Australian-born recipients of the 'Merited Artist of Ukraine' award. Together with her creative artistic team, Melanie presents a new and unique full-length folk ballet that captivates and engages young and old alike. It's a tale of love, betrayal and supernatural spirits, where woodland creatures dance in the moonlight and beautiful young maidens toss garlands of flowers into a river, wondering from whence their lovers would appear.KAZKA is an exciting and innovative production, performed by a stellar cast of 40 outstanding dancers. Lehenda's recent Australian and North American tours have seen sold out theatres, with standing ovations after every show.
