OverviewThis 1.5 hour beginner-friendly class will begin at the new ADA accessible dock near the overlook of the Audubon Center on the Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary. Kayak, PDF, and paddles will be provided. Mississippi River Water Trail Association, The Army Corps of Engineers and Audubon staff will discuss water safety guidelines and review the basics to kayaking on Ellis Bay. Participants and guides will then launch their boats and set off to paddle around Ellis Bay helping to participate in a stream team clean up. Each participant will receive a stream team trash bag. Each session will be accompanied by a Riverlands environmental educator that can interpret and highlight the diverse wildlife that can be viewed along the Mississippi River. 13 years old and up, if participant is under 18 years of age they must be accompanied by an adult.

Weight Limits:
Our boats are typically limited to 300 lbs. Please contact Emily if you weigh 260 lbs or above, so that we can accommodate with the appropriate kayak. Email: [email protected] to inquire more.
What to Wear/Bring:
We highly recommend you wear synthetic fabrics only (no cotton).
Closed toe shoes are required
We recommend wearing sunblock and sunglasses
