About this Event
Our fall-winter season of kayak tours to the Los Cerritos Wetlands are here! This tour is an incredible way to view one of the most pristine areas of the wetlands, Steamshovel Slough, with an environmental guide who will provide educational commentary. The kayak tours will be led by LA River Expeditions who also host kayak tours of the Los Angeles River.
The kayak tours will meet at the playground at Mother's Beach between 8:00 - 10:00 AM and will wrap up by 10:00 -12 PM depending on the date. This time frame is to ensure the tide is high enough to easily kayak in and out of the Steamshovel Slough area.
The Los Cerritos Wetlands Land Trust underwrites a significant portion of the expenses for the tours, and we are asking for a $40 donation per kayaker to help offset the costs of gear rentals and our highly qualified tour guides.
Tickets are non-refundable and final sale. If you can’t attend the trip you are welcome to find someone else to take your spot, or your donation will be used towards the work of protecting and preserving Los Cerritos Wetlands.
Waivers for the Land Trust and LA River Expeditions must be reviewed and virtually signed to participate. To complete the order form you must agree to the conditions within the waivers.
Please arrive early enough to find parking; metered and street parking is available at Mother's Beach.
Kayaking is a physically active & demanding activity. We will be paddling a few miles and all attendees should be physically able to paddle their own solo kayak.
Attendees must be 12 years of age or older, and all attendees under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket on the same trip.
See you on the water!
