We will launch from Fort Desoto boat ramp and kayak to Shelly Key. The paddle is usually pretty mild and we are often followed by Cormorants and Dolphins. The paddle is up to 2 miles depending on where on the island we set up camp. We can share in meals to make the packing easier on everyone. Please be sure to read the rules when reserving your permit.

This is a primitive island with no facilities. You are required to bring your own port-a-potty.
There is ferry that now runs but we’ve never used it. Might be an option for someone who doesn’t have a kayak.
