Two of Kansas City's most beloved bands are teaming up to exchange and play on each others' songs for a one-night only supergroup version of original music by Katy Guillen & The Drive and The Swallowtails. Do not miss this very special occasion of shared song featuring Katy Guillen, Stephanie Williams, Miki P, and Rachel Lovelace. Katy Guillen & The Drive
Through the course of writing, refining and recording their debut full-length album, “Another One Gained,” Katy Guillen & The Drive delved into the catharsis of a bittersweet moment in time. Recorded with Kevin Ratterman (My Morning Jacket, Heartless Bastards) at Invisible Creature Studio in Los Angeles, the 10-track effort was met with high praise upon its 2022 release. Accompanied by drummer Stephanie Williams’ melodically exacting rhythms, Guillen’s emotive guitar playing aligns with her lyrics to meet at the crossroads of suffering and silver linings.
As lauded by Under The Radar Magazine, the duo evokes a “simple and timeless indie rock sound carried by Guillen’s chugging guitar and Williams’ driving drums, yet they also show off effortless instrumental chemistry, locking into an easygoing groove that gives both members a chance to shine.”

The Swallowtails
The Swallowtails are a genre-bending acoustic duo that fuses rock, pop, and folk genres by-way of their unique instrumentation. Featuring Miki P on acoustic guitar/vocals, and Rachel Lovelace on bassoon/vocals, the songwriting duo from Kansas City is making waves throughout the Midwest and beyond. Established in 2018, they have released 2 full-length albums of original music: Right Where We Are(2020) & The World Still Spins (2023). In November of 2024, the band won “Best Local Band” in the Kansas City magazine The Pitch. The Swallowtails latest release is an EP named Lucky Penny (2024), marking the beginning of a new musical direction for the duo as co-songwriters. NPR’s 90.9 The Bridgesays about the EP, “A lovely confluence of pastoral folk and baroque pop, these songs evoke the understated but poignant movements that we all encounter throughout life – in celebration, struggle, regrets and realizations.” Miki’s rhythmic guitar paired with Rachel’s soaring melodies creates an endearing and charismatic stage presence. The Swallowtails are redefining what a live music experience can encompass.
