Originaire des Highlands écossais, Katie Gregson-MacLeod façonne très tôt son rapport à la narration et au chant, entre comédies musicales familiales et premières compositions. Sa musique, une folk-pop intimiste au lyricisme profondément personnel, puise dans des influences marquantes : Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith, mais aussi un héritage Motown transmis par la collection de disques de son grand-père.
Après un EP lo-fi auto-produit à 18 ans, elle se révèle en 2022 avec le succès viral de “complex”, qui lui vaut une reconnaissance internationale et une nomination aux Ivor Novello. En 2024, elle entame un nouveau chapitre indépendant en rejoignant Last Recordings on Earth, le label de Matt Maltese, et dévoile un EP plus brut et introspectif, où elle explore amour, nostalgie et vulnérabilité avec une sensibilité narrative qui reste sa signature.

Katie Gregson-MacLeod, afkomstig uit de Schotse Highlands, ontwikkelde al op jonge leeftijd haar band met verhalen vertellen en zingen, tussen familiemusicals en eerste composities. Haar muziek, intieme folkpop met zeer persoonlijke teksten, put uit belangrijke invloeden: Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Elliott Smith, maar ook een Motown-erfenis die ze meekreeg via de platencolllectie van haar grootvader.
Na een zelfgeproduceerde lo-fi-EP op 18-jarige leeftijd brak ze in 2022 door met het virale succes van ‘complex’, dat haar internationale erkenning en een nominatie voor de Ivor Novello opleverde. In 2024 begon ze een nieuw onafhankelijk hoofdstuk door zich aan te sluiten bij Last Recordings on Earth, het label van Matt Maltese, en brengt ze een rauwere en introspectievere EP uit, waarin ze liefde, nostalgie en kwetsbaarheid verkent met een verhalende gevoeligheid die haar handelsmerk blijft.
