About this Event
The second of our literary treats this month: we are excited to welcome island author Katie Daysh whose debut novel Leeward has been a resounding success.
A gripping and descriptive story in Fighting Age of Sail genre, Leeward tells of the brutal experiences of weather and life on board naval vessels at the beginning of the 19th century. Through the characters we learn of relationships, politics, loyalties and deceptions and a mission caught up in an immense web.
Book Group recently read this and it was very much enjoyed. We were curious to find out why Katie was so fascinated by the subject - it was clearly well researched. Leeward is the first part of a trilogy and the second book in the series - The Devil To Pay - is now published and in bookshops.
