The exhibition features a collection of embroidered work completed by Halper prior to 2013 and captures a unique moment in time and a unique point of view, that of a mother who has suddenly become privy to the secret lives of her children as documented on burgeoning social media platforms. Halper’s choice of a medium so connected to domestic life, maternal caring, and slow and thoughtful action is at odds with the immediacy of the images and the way many now live their lives so openly online.
