Join us on Saturday, June 21st, from 1:00PM-2:00PM for an in-depth talk with artist Katherine Young.
Katherine B. Young, MD, MFA fell in love with the ocean when she was a small child. She spent a lot of time on the water before going to medical school to train in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
After working for 10 years as a plastic surgeon in San Francisco, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a full time artist. She specializes in drawing and painting vast spaces of ocean and sky. Her work has won numerous awards and has been exhibited and collected throughout the United States.
Young's exhibition in the Permanent Collection Gallery will feature a curated collection of some of her favorite works, addressing the ocean pollution problem.
This event will give you the opportunity to meet the artist, learn more about her story, and how that intertwines with her work, while viewing the artist's current exhibition at the Triton Museum of Art.
The event is free and open to the public (including free parking).
