About this Event
The Tagore Centre, @indiaingermany invites all to a show of kathak Dance : Krishna Geetham.
Kathak is a prominent ancient Indian classical dance and is thought to have started from the wandering bards of North India known as Kathakars, meaning storytellers. These Kathakars travelled and conveyed stories by means of music, dance and songs.
Samvedan - The Deodatt Persaud Kathak Studios will be presenting an evening dedicated to the enchanting Lord Shri Krishna. Through the captivating classical dance form of Kathak, the presentations will illuminate the life and essence of Shri Krishna using poetry and texts from various Indian saints and philosophers. The performance will portray episodes ranging from Krishna's playful and mischievous interactions with the milkmaids (gopis) to the divine dances with his beloved Shri Radherani.
At the heart of the evening's presentation lies the Raas Leela, narrating the timeless bond between Krishna and his devotees. This narrative encapsulates the universal theme of love with his devotees and underscores the profound truth that the interplay of masculine and feminine energies within a sea of love and devotion holds transformative power.
