Come along and celebrate the launch of Kate Jenkinson's stunning debut poetry collection, Un/Broken.We have a poetry-packed party in store for you. Kate will be performing poetry directly from her new book as well as taking on questions from your good selves. She plans on partying like it's her birthday (it's also her birthday...!!). Little birdies are whispering that there may even be cake...
The delightful Phoenix Ruddock and Ashley Edge will also be on hand, giving guest performances. And, as if that wasn't enough, we also have an open mic. So you can come along, enjoy the show and then join in the fun by sharing your poetry with everyone!

Kate Jenkinson Bio:
Dr Kate Jenkinson likes hats and writes about the many ones she wears. Her poetry is published in EyeFlash, Good DadHood, Steel Jackdaw, Flight of the Dragonfly and Feral (their first Mother/Daughter poetry and art collaboration). Kate’s neurodivergency and aphantasia are a feature of her recent work. She can be found co-hosting Prickly Pear Open Mic – second Sunday of the Month. Phoenix Ruddock:
Phoenix (they/them) is an agender/non-binary, asexual, neurodivergent and disabled published poet born and raised in York. Often appearing at York Spoken Word, Prickly Pear, and various online open mics, Phoenix has co-hosted open mic events for York Ending Stigma and was a supporting poet at Poetry for All in November 2023. Phoenix had their pamphlet, ‘Scenes of Silent Horror’, published in 2023 with prettytatteredsoul, themed around their own experiences of emotional abuse and trauma, and has other pieces of work published in a variety of publications. Their work centres around neurodivergence, gender and sexuality, disability, discrimination, and mental health/illness.
Ashley Edge:
Ashley is a neurodivergent, non-binary Staffordshire-based poet, with a Cheshire twang and Spanish heart. Writing from the soul, their poetry is a bag of diverse All Sorts. Their collection 'Those Days, These Days" was released in 2020, re-released 2023 (Llais Newydd) and they've been published in multiple anthologies, on BBC Upload, National Poetry Day (YouTube) and more. Editor, tutor, workshop facilitator, event host and publisher, embracing every part of their AuDHD!
