New Zealand’s beloved roots reggae crew Katchafire returns to Portland for a night of soulful rhythms and island vibes. From their early days as a Bob Marley tribute band to sharing stages worldwide with legends like The Wailers, Steel Pulse, and UB40, Katchafire has built a reputation for spreading positive energy and uplifting grooves wherever they go. With six studio albums under their belt, including the chart-topping Legacy, their live show is a celebration of conscious lyrics, deep bass, and classic reggae soul.
Opening the night is Kaʻikena Scanlan — a Native Hawaiian and Samoan musician, educator, and cultural advocate from Oʻahu. Known for hits like “Utu Bang Bang” and “He Kanaka,” Kaʻikena blends Hawaiian reggae with a deep respect for language, land, and tradition, creating songs that carry both island spirit and cultural pride.
