Kat and the Kooltones

Kathleen McCatherin has been singing and playing from the tender age of five when her mother taught her and her two sisters to sing a harmonized version of It’s A Small World to entertain her friends and neighbors. Through the years Kathleen has studied voice with David Goulet and Judith James. She has sung with the jazz vocal groups Five in Time and !Zing. Additionally, she sang with the pop groups Soundtrac and Up for the Count. A choral lover, Kathleen has sung with the Choral Art Society and Portland Community Chorus. She is delighted to stand on the Cadenza stage and sing many of her favorite tunes backed by the stellar jazz trio of Flash Allen (piano), John Clark (bass), and Nancy Durham (drums).
