The Carnival for the Future is a coalition of artists, cultural and social workers, students, activists, and citizens who believe in the transformative power of art and culture.
Both the preparations and the parade itself aim to inspire participants and spectators with environmental themes. The carnival will be an inclusive, joyful, solution-oriented, and liberating parade that celebrates community, collaboration and creativity to make environmental protection accessible.
Environmental protection and social justice are inseparable. To effectively protect our environment and climate, we must also address the intertwined issues of global distribution, economic systems of constant growth, and power dynamics. We advocate for solidarity and a decolonial, socially just and sustainable future.
What does a fairer, better and more sustainable future look like? Through Carnival we work together creatively to bring these possible visions to life.

Here are a few ideas on how you can take part:
As a workshop participant: From July to October, we will be offering open, free, creative workshops on various environmental topics. These will take place at various locations and institutions in Berlin. All current information about our workshops can be found on our Instagram channel and website.
As a group: You are a group / initiative and are dealing with environmental issues? You are very welcome to show your work focus at the parade with creative means!
As an artist: Would you like to make a creative contribution to the parade? Then send us your ideas to [email protected].
As a helper: Our carnival is happy to have helping hands both in the preparations and during the parade!

Karneval für die Zukunft ist mehr als nur eine Parade. Hier können Menschen in all ihrer Vielfalt zusammenkommen, um gemeinsame Visionen für eine soziale und nachhaltige Zukunft zu schaffen und zu stärken.
Der Karneval für die Zukunft ist ein Zusammenschluss von Künstler*innen, Kultur- und Sozialarbeiter*innen, Schüler*innen, Aktivist*innen und Bürger:innen, die an die transformative Kraft von Kunst und Kultur glauben.
Sowohl die Vorbereitungen als auch der Umzug sollen Teilnehmende und Zuschauer*innen für Umweltthemen begeistern. Der Karneval soll ein inklusiver, fröhlicher, lösungsorientierter und befreiender Umzug sein, der den Umweltschutz zelebriert und erreichbar macht.
Umweltschutz und soziale Gerechtigkeit sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Um unsere Umwelt und unser Klima effektiv zu schützen, müssen wir parallel globale Verteilungsfragen, Wirtschaftssysteme des ständigen Wachstums und Machtstrukturen hinterfragen. Wir setzen uns für ein solidarisches Miteinander und eine dekoloniale, sozial gerechte und nachhaltige Zukunft ein.
Wie sieht eine gerechtere, bessere und nachhaltigere Zukunft aus? Durch den Karneval arbeiten wir kreativ zusammen, um diese möglichen Visionen zum Leben zu erwecken.
