Join us for the Karma Clothing Swap, a fun and eco-friendly event where you can refresh your wardrobe without spending a ton of money! This in-person gathering will take place on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2:30 PM (Pacific Daylight Time).
Bring your gently used clothing items that no longer spark joy for you, and exchange them for something new-to-you. It's a fantastic opportunity to declutter your closet and discover unique pieces that reflect your personal style.
Our event promotes sustainability and community building. By participating, you contribute to reducing textile waste, raise monetary and clothing donations for the DTES Women's Centre, and foster a culture of sharing and reusing. Plus, you'll get to meet like-minded women and make new friends!
No matter your age, gender, or style preference, everyone is welcome at the Karma Clothing Swap. It's a chance to express your creativity, experiment with different looks, and find hidden gems that will become your new favourites.

50% of profits made will be donated to DTES Womens Centre. Remaining clothing items will be donated to DTES Women's Centre, Big bothers, and the Salvation Army depending on needs.
How It Works:
Please bring a reusable bag of 2 to 20 pieces of gently used clothing. No stains, no holes, clean condition. You will receive a ticket with credit for each qualifying item - Ex: If you bring 5 items, you can swap for 5 items.
Agenda:
2:30-3:30pm - Check in: For the first hour, we will be checking people in and setting up the clothing. During this time, there will be a bar to purchase drinks, an opportunity to mingle and make friends, and a DJ to keep the party alive!
3:30-5:30 pm - The Swap: You will have 2.5 hours to find a new wardrobe. We encourage you to try things on to ensure you love the items you're taking home. There will be an open change area set up. If you feel more comfortable, you can wear thin clothing (such as leggings, biker shorts, tank top, sports bra) to try on stuff on top.
5:30pm - To get out of the space on time, we will close the bar and start packing up around 5:30pm. You can stay until doors close at 5:50 pm.
Accepted Items: Shirts, pants, skirts, dresses, sweaters, jackets, accessories, handbags, jewelry. Bathing suits if brand new. Ladies shoes in size 5,6,7,8, or 9 if very gently used. Please tie, bag, or clip together anything that comes in a set such as shoes, earrings, bathing suits, and two pieces.
