Raised in the Alaska folk scene, Kara Grace Wilson’s music is a heartfelt reflection of her experiences and the lessons she’s learned on her journey. Don’t Shoot the Messenger is the culmination of nearly 15 years of songwriting. The EP was recorded at Bud’s Recording Services in Austin, TX—Kara’s home before Bend—with the support of musicians playing with the likes of Shakey Graves, Sunny War, and Heartless Bastards, over three days of madness and magic. You can hear the influence of musical idols like Lucinda Williams, Joni Mitchell, Laura Marling, and Charlotte Day Wilson woven into the 6-song record. KGW will be accompanied by Dragan Dokic (lead guitar, bandmate from Huck Finn Yacht Club), Ben Miosi (drums), and Ori Wheeler (bass).
