The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua is excited to welcome local musician Akoni Palomino to the Kapalua Concert Series. He will perform in the resort’s newly reimagined Alaloa Lounge on Friday, March 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Akoni was born and raised on Maui, where he has spent the last 15 years performing and refining his music. Drawing from his kamaʻāina upbringing, Akoni has developed his unique island sound through a modern blend of Hawaiian and traditional reggae rhythms. His music pulls from his local roots, including collaborations with John Cruz, Maoli, Kaylan Arnold, Iam Tongi, and the great Kamaka Kukona on his all-original “For Lahaina” tribute. Akoni is currently recording his first full-length studio album which will include his single “Catch My Wave” along with all new music recently recorded at Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston, Jamaica. A zealous performer and songwriter, Akoni’s music can be heard on local Hawaiian radio with multiple #1 hits on iTunes and over a million streams on Spotify.
Just off the resort’s breathtaking lobby lanai, Alaloa Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua boasts an extensive craft cocktail menu highlighting local ingredients, an elaborate sushi and sashimi menu, and elevated comfort cuisine. Menu highlights include toro tartare with caviar, tuna tataki, and seared salmon rolls. Live music is offered seven nights a week. Valet parking is complimentary.
