Kansas Shorthorn Futurity at Kansas Junior Livestock Show

The Shorthorn Futurity was established in 1986. Again, in cooperation with the KLA Club Calf sale and the manager Stephen Russell, we offer futurity Shorthorns and Shorthorn plus females and steers.

Tentative Schedule:
Friday Oct 3
10 AM Begin arriving
5-7:30 PM Weigh and Tag calves
Saturday Oct 4
9 AM Exhibition Show
7 PM Sale
Depart by 9 AM Sunday Oct 5.

Show back premiums:
Club calf prospects purchased at the October 2022 Futurity Sale can be showed back as mature animal for cash and purchase certificate premiums. Total premium will be in the combined form of 50% cash and 50% futurity purchase certificates.
Premium Awards:
Shorthorn Steer & Heifer: 1st $1,000, 2nd $ 500, 3rd $250
Shorthorn Plus Steer & Heifer: 1st $1,000, 2nd $500.
