The Kansas City Canaries are a modern chorus line dedicated to honoring the legacy of jazz and chorus traditions. We especially uplift the contributions of Black women and other pioneers whose artistry shaped this form and commit to resisting their historic erasure. Our work centers on community, equity, and creating an inclusive space where all dancers are valued and celebrated.📅 When: Saturday, Nov 15, 9am–4:30pm (arrive early to park & warm up)

Fem & fem-presenting performers from all backgrounds who love jazz & chorus-line dance.
🎶 Audition details:
Submit a self-choreographed video (due Nov 12, 11:59pm)
Learn & perform 2 Canaries’ stock routines
Solo jazz/improv to a surprise jazz track
👗 What to wear:
Athletic/dancewear, neat hair, short dance heels (2-inch character heels preferred). Add a touch of stage presence with makeup/styling if you like!
