This is our fourth Kandos Crop Swap.KANDOS CROP SWAP GOALS AND RULES
OUR CROP SWAP GOALS
• To Crop Swap in one consistent public place.
• To cultivate diversity, knowledge-sharing and co-operation in the community.
• To share fresh, healthy and nourishing produce with each other.
• To exchange outside of commercial transaction.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
The KCS group has voted for monthly Crop Swaps on Saturday between 9am and 11am. This can change to fortnightly or weekly Crop Swaps as the group evolves.
• Until we find our rhythm, many of us will have a lot of the same produce.
• As we start to understand each other’s needs, we’ll begin to identify what we can uniquely bring to the swap that will be popular and useful to others
• You can set up swaps on the Facebook page prior to the swap day by posting a few good photos of your produce. This lets others know what you have, and they can offer you swap options.
• You can also call out for what you need on the Facebook page.
• Don’t be discouraged if someone doesn’t want to swap for your produce. They may have allergies, dietary concerns, or other reasons. You still have what you started with, so there’s no loss, and if it’s an abundance of fresh produce, you can always process it yourself and bring that to the next Crop Swap.
GUIDELINES:
• This is not a Farmers Market. No money can be exchanged. Swaps only.
• Fresh produce only: No frozen produce.
• You must be the grower or maker of the fresh goods you swap.
• The Crop Swap is based on trust. Every swap must be a fair and respectful agreement between producers.
• The Crop Swap is calm, friendly, respectful, and we will work together to keep it that way.
• If sprays or poisons are used in your growing or making methods, you must be clear about this with those you swap with.
• If you are disappointed by a swap, address it with the person you made the swap with. The organisers do not monitor or police produce.
• Respect the place of Crop Swap. Clean up at the end. Leave nothing behind.
• All swapping must end at 11am. Respect the organisers/venue owners of the Crop Swap by going elsewhere if you’d like to continue conversations.
