About this Event

Get ready for the provincial election coming up on October 19, 2024, by finding out where candidates stand on issues that matter to you!

Join Transition Kamloops and CPAWS-BC for an evening with candidates for Kamloops Centre and Kamloops–North Thompson at Thompson Rivers University. The forum is non-partisan and all registered candidates have been invited. The evening will be split into two parts—one for each of the two Kamloops ridings. (Not sure which riding you are in? Elections BC has a Find Your District tool for that.)

Have you got questions related to climate change, energy, transportation, forestry practices, biodiversity conservation, parks, and wildfires? Submit them in advance . We’ll choose the most frequently asked questions and put them to the candidates. Questions will not be accepted from the floor, but attendees will have the chance to speak with candidates during the pre-forum reception and during the break.

Pre-forum reception

Join us for food and refreshments at 6 pm prior to the first forum session, at no charge. Please come mingle and share your views with the candidates. Register now to save your seat!

We look forward to seeing you on October 2.

About the organizers

is an organization focused on increasing local resilience and self-sufficiency in food, water, energy, culture and wellness. We emphasize a local economy, healthy ecosystems, and grassroots community building, while reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.

is part of one of Canada’s oldest non-profit conservation groups. We protect wilderness in every corner of BC and deep into the ocean. We work with Indigenous, provincial and federal governments with the goal of creating large protected and interconnected areas: places that can nurse nature through climate change and shelter plants and animals forever.
