WHAT IS KAMILI YOGA®?
From the African Swahili word for “complete” and the Indian Sanskrit word for “union,” Kamili Yoga® teaches yogic enlightenment through the lens of African ancestry. It is a contemporary system rooted in the exploration of traditional Pan-African knowledge and concepts, from African ancestral practices across the Motherland to customs of Black descendants dispersed around the world. Kamili Yoga® addresses numerous needs: the need for more culturally diverse Yoga systems, the need for more Yoga systems that de-center Whiteness, and the need for more Yoga systems that celebrate the beautiful depths of Black and African being.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Through informative lecture, group discussion, and guided practice, students will explore how they can incorporate Kamili Yoga® into their everyday yogic lifestyle. The workshop is community-centered, meaning students are encouraged to openly engage in sharing and dialogue to support in one another's growth and learning.
This is a safe(r) space exclusively for Black yogis. The offering is inclusive and affirming of all Black identities, body types, and skill levels. Yoga experience is NOT required.

REGISTRATION FORMAT
The workshop has a unique format and will be adjusted to the number of students who attend:
- One student: Receive a private 60 minute session
- Two students: Workshop a maximum of 2 hours
- Three students: Workshop a maximum of 3 hours
- Four students: Workshop a maximum of 4 hours
This format helps to avoid cancellation due to low enrollment, and allows the offering to take place no matter the amount of registrations. Students will be informed of the attendance number prior to the workshop.
