Join us on a trip back in time with a short but beautiful hike to the historic Kallison Ranch complex. Not normally open to the public, you will be treated to some incredible scenic views while learning about one of Government Canyon’s founding families.The hike is approximately 2.5 miles round trip over sections of moderately rough terrain. We will discuss how Texas was settled in the late 1800s and learn about the highly influential Kallison family and their legacy.
Open to ages 10 and above; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; no pets please.
Registration is NOT required for this hike, but is limited to the first 30 that check in with the hike leader. Though the hike is free, all Natural Area entry fees apply.
To save time at the Fee Booth and ensure entrance, please pre-purchase and PRINT OUT a Day Pass. Day passes can be reserved beginning one month ahead of your visit.
