Step back to the 1880s for a weekend of pōhili (base ball), history, and aloha.
The Kalakaua Base Ball Jubilee honors Hawaiʻi’s place as the third country in the world to play organized base ball.
This historic tournament brings together Hawaiʻi’s home clubs and visiting teams from the Bay Area — playing by Spalding’s 1886 Rules in full period uniforms.

🔶 Day the First – Saturday, November 8 🔶
11:00 AM – Opening Ceremony / Pule Hoʻomaka
A Hawaiian blessing led by Kumu Anuhea Kanealiʻi, and remarks from some very special guests
11:30 AM (approx.) – Match Game 1
San Francisco Pelicans vs. Waikiki Base Ball Club
2:30 PM (approx.) – Match Game 2
Barbary Coasters vs. Royal Hawaiian Base Ball Club

🔷 Day the Second – Sunday, November 9 🔷
10:00 AM – Match Game 3
Third Place Match (losers of Match Games 1 & 2)
1:00 PM (approx.) – Match Game 4
Trophy Match Game
A Hawaiʻi club “by right” vs. the visiting club of superior showing.

Food & Concessions
Local food and snacks will be available all weekend by Cosmic Tacos 808, Asato Family, and Hauʻoli Pastry
Cracker Jade – local kine crackerjacks made with Jade Foods, old school crack seed, cold drinks, AVBBA merchandise and printed programs will also be for sale.

Parking & Seating
Limited street parking available at Cartwright Field.
Please consider carpooling, rideshare, or public transit.
Seating is limited: bring your own chairs or blankets.

The Aloha Vintage Base Ball Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sports, history, moʻolelo, and telling the forgotten stories of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi through the game of base ball.
Our kuleana is to educate, preserve, and uplift Hawaiʻi’s base ball heritage while keeping recreation and culture accessible to all.
