About this Event
Join us for an unforgettable day at the stunning Kai Iwi Lakes! On Saturday, 24th of January 2026, head to the Promenade Point Campground for an incredible opportunity to explore the crystal-clear waters of Lake Taharoa.
Book in with one of our guided snorkelling sessions, where you can discover the vibrant underwater world of this unique dune lake. Whether you're a seasoned snorkeller or a first-timer, our experienced guides will ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all. As the sun sets, the adventure continues with evening snorkelling to uncover the nocturnal wonders of the lake.
This event is proudly supported by Water Safety New Zealand. Water safety is our top priority — swimming in freshwater is quite different from swimming in the ocean, as freshwater provides less buoyancy. Join us to experience this in a safe, supportive environment, guided by our experienced team.
Bring your own gear or get free hire of our mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuits. The day snorkelling minimum age is 4 years old, and twilight/night snorkelling minimum age is 12 years old. Experienced guides and advanced safety procedures will be in place on the day.
Don’t miss this chance to connect with te taiao and experience the magic of Lake Taharoa. Bring your sense of adventure and join us for a day of fun, discovery, and connection with nature. See you there!
Spaces are limited — registering ahead of time helps us run things smoothly and guarantees your spot. We’ll accept walk-ins on the day only if there’s space available, but priority will go to those who pre-register.
