Following the centenary of Kafka's death in 1924, Deutsches Haus Columbia University will host eight internationally known scholars for a workshop on the question of the non-human in Kafka's writing and thinking--animals, bugs, machines, inhuman humans, ghosts, things that have a human-like characteristics and other phenomena in his strange but timely fictional universe.
