💥 Kabooks! is a multilingual musical storytelling experience for families and children bringing books to life with live improvised music.
These musical storytelling sessions will commemorate International Migrants Day at Lippulaiva Library on December 18th!
Kabooks! will highlight minority heritage languages promote reading mediation music sensibilization enrich family life and showcase the artistic talents within our diverse society.
Enjoy with your children storytelling and live music sessions in Portuguese and Turkish languages.

- Storyteller: Luciana Paltila (BR)
- Musician: João Luís (PT) will play percussion.
Luciana Paltila is the Vice-president of the Portuguese Language Teachers Association in Finland (APPF) and a well-known storyteller. With the traditional drums of Portuguese percussionist João Luís the duo will facilitate a magical session of stories and music that inspire wonder and spark conversations about the beauty of multiculturalism in honor of Migration Day.

- Storyteller: Murat Emre Ermutlu (TK/FI).
- Musician: Melisa Yildirim (TK) will play acoustic kamancha and lavta.
Melisa and Murat had become a well-known musical duo after playing many times together. In Kabooks percussionist Murat will introduce to children the story of the great Turkish musicians Tanburi Cemil Bey and Asik Veysel. Melisa will bring this story to life with Sufi Anatolian folk and contemporary music.
This is a Kulttuurikeskus Ninho ry project in collaboration with students from the Global Music Program (SIBA) Helmet Espoo Lippulaiva Library and the Association of Portuguese Language Teachers in Finland (APPF).
