Boots to Barbells is a female veteran-led nonprofit that helps Canadian veterans transition from military service into meaningful civilian careers in health, fitness, and wellness. Many veterans leave service feeling lost, disconnected, or unsure of their next chapter. Boots to Barbells exists to bridge that gap by providing fully funded education, certification pathways, mentorship, and community support for veterans who want to become personal trainers and wellness professionals. This isn’t just about fitness, it’s about identity, purpose, confidence, and belonging. Boots to Barbells helps veterans turn their discipline, leadership, and resilience into a career they can be proud of, while surrounding them with a community that truly understands them.
🐾 About Kadence Legacy Fund
Kadence Legacy Fund is a female co-founded veteran-led nonprofit that supports veterans living with PTSD and operational stress injuries through access to service dogs and wraparound supports. Their One Dog, One Life program pairs highly trained service dogs with individuals who need support with mental health, independence, and daily functioning. These dogs are more than companions, they are lifelines, helping people feel safe, grounded, and capable of navigating the world again. Kadence Legacy Fund focuses on connection, dignity, and long-term healing, ensuring that those who have served are never left to struggle alone.
* my friend and her family have a deep personal story connected to their nonprofit and I invite you to go see her website; she has put so much time and love into her organization. To put into perspective, my friend Tina says "Afghanistan was nothing compared to... it got me ready for..." and as a veteran who gave my all to my country, it breaks my heart hearing this strength come from such a badass mama because she does so much for others, daily. anyways shes not in this group, but her organization definitely deserves some love and attention 💝
