Join K-State Research and Extension for the 2025 Regional Calving School on Wednesday, December 17 at the J.A. Haas Building in Larned. This hands-on program is designed to help beef producers prepare for a successful calving season and is open to participants from Pawnee County and all surrounding counties.The evening features two K-State specialists:
• Dr. AJ Tarpoff, Associate Professor and Beef Extension Veterinarian
He will walk participants through the normal stages of calving, how to identify and manage difficult births, when to intervene, and proper use of calving equipment with a life-size cow and calf model.
• Dr. Jason Warner, Assistant Professor and Extension Cow-Calf Specialist
He will cover winter cow/calf management practices and essential pre-calving nutritional strategies that support healthy calves and productive cows.
A complimentary steak dinner is provided.
