Nitya Nritya Foundation partners with the Marmalade Branch of the Salt Lake City Public Library to bring Hindustani music in celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights!Usher in the light of Diwali by soaking in the dulcet tones of Hindustani music, a genre of classical music from the North of India. The Marmalade Branch of Salt Lake City Public Library, in collaboration with Nitya Nritya Foundation presents Utah artists; Abhishek Mukherjee on the Sitar, Wade Evans on the Santoor and Debanjan Bhattacharya on the Tabla. The presentation will be interspersed with remarks on context to enable an informed appreciation of the music system.

The presentation will conclude with a short and engaging lecture-demonstration on the Raaga system of Hindustani music and a workshop in rhythms of the Tabla.
