Join justice seekers from throughout Sedgwick County's broader faith community as we present well-researched, community driven proposals addressing homelessness and affordable housing to local officials at the Justice Together 2025 Nehemiah Assembly! PEOPLE POWER WORKS!
Last year's Justice Together Nehemiah Assembly brought out 1,400 people who secured commitments from local officials on community driven proposals on mental health and homelessness. This resulted in COMCARE achieving 24/7/365 mobile mental health crisis coverage, an expansion of a peer support and transportation program to support more than 300 people struggling with addiction and mental illness, as well as a low barrier photo ID program that is set to launch in April.
We will continue our work to hold our local officials accountable to the commitment they made to develop a plan to fully fund the operating budget of the proposed Multi Agency Center, as well as put forward proposals to address affordable housing that are currently being developed by our affordable housing research committee.
About us:
Justice Together is a network of 38 faith communities (and counting!) who have come together to launch Sedgwick County's first of its kind, multifaith justice organization. We look to scripture for inspiration in fulfilling God's call to "do justice" and Nehemiah 5 shows us the power of a great assembly of people, united to do justice together!
