It is with deep sadness, anger, and disgust that we mourn the death of Robert Brooks, who was murdered by corrections officers at the Marcy Correctional Facility on December 9, 2024. We are saddened by the lack of accountability and disregard for human life displayed by those in positions of power. Officers, nurses and bystanders in the released videos exhibit an extreme lack of humanity, empathy, and compassion. Their actions go against the very principles they are meant to uphold. It is unacceptable for anyone to be treated with such brutality and inhumanity, especially while being restrained and defenseless. We demand justice for Robert Brooks and the many who have been victims of similar atrocities. It is past time for those in power to be held accountable for their actions and for necessary changes to be made to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future. We urge everyone to stand with us in solidarity as we rally and demand justice for Robert Brooks outside of the State Office Building at 207 Genesee St in Utica on Saturday January 11 2025 at 12pm. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Robert Brooks' family and loved ones during this difficult time.
