— Lux Terra II // Earthlight —We are delighted to welcome back _Asha_ for another instalment of Lux Terra!
An established DJ and event organizer belonging to the conscious dance community in Goa and his homeland Iran, Asha is now based in Vancouver. Known for his exquisite track selection and ability to create a beautiful flow to sink deeply into, he brings an expansive, energetic, and uplifting range of global soundscapes to captivate and motivate the dancefloor.
JD co-resident dj Raghunath Khe will play the first half of the evening, initiating the sound from the ground + up, skillfully inching the energy progressively higher into the peak of the dance. Anticipate a sophisticated and vibrant mix of highly-danceable vibrations from some of the worlds most pertinent producers and musicians. Delicious basslines, ecstatic rhythms, and blissed-out frequencies.

Asha, whose name means “truth” or “best righteousness”, was born into a Sufi family and has travelled our Mother Earth extensively. He learned how to DJ in Goa, and had the good fortune to play massive sets during his time there alongside many great artists. In his hometown in Iran he was known for organizing underground parties featuring some amazing local talent. He has a passion for showcasing Middle Eastern culture and the spiritual background of his country. Asha is known for his melodic, harmonic, energetic and spiritual style of music. He plays a broad range of sounds, from his psytrance roots, to more chill and dub styles, and various flavours of world fusion. Asha is now based in Vancouver, Canada, and is a crew member of the Persian Global Community.

Raghunath Khe has been an intrinsic part of the evolving conscious dance culture for more than 25 years. An innovative composer, producer, and dj, they are interested in the transformational properties of music, movement, bhajan, and community. They have previously released four albums - earlier ones under the moniker Haitchc, have composed multiple original film scores, and are currently working on material for their fifth full-length release. Raghunath is a formal brahmana initiate within the brahma-madhva-gaudiya sampradaya (lineage), having spent several uninterrupted years as a monk studying and serving in temples both in Canada and India. They belong to the sodalities of bhakti, tantra, and ashtanga, and through familial succession, draoidh healing practice. Regularly performing, teaching, and orchestrating events, they are affiliated with Full Moon Medicine, Back Beyond, Waxing Moon, and Intention Gathering, and are a co-resident dj and organizer at Vancouver's long-running Just Dance night. In addition, Raghunath contributes musically and otherwise to various festivals and gatherings locally and internationally. A long-time radio presence, they are currently the host and producer of Mantra Radio on CiTR 101.9fm in Vancouver.

Just Dance is a positive party community event. It offers a unique opportunity to dance to an eclectic selection of music from around the world. Held every week Just Dance can be described as a refreshing alternative to the bar and club scene. Just Dance is also a non-profit organization and has donated thousands of dollars to local charities over the last 29 years.
