Just A Farmer is a heartfelt and powerful film which is screening at The Edge Cinema Katoomba on World Suicide Prevention Day, 10 September 2025. The Blue Mountains Safe Space are honoring the ‘changing the narrative’ theme for this international day of recognition by inviting you to listen to lived experience stories and watch the screening of an emotional yet inspiring narrative film that captures the resilience, struggles, and triumphs of rural life. The film sheds light on the challenges faced by farmers and their families—exploring themes of mental health, community support, and the unbreakable bond between people and the land they work on.
Event commences in the foyer at 6:00pm with finger food being served and a chance to meet and speak with Safe Space volunteers and local service providers. The film screening (105 Minutes) will begin in cinema around 7:00pm and ending with a Q&A panel of the volunteers behind this suicide prevention service. After the Q&A there is more time to mingle and ask more questions about Blue Mountains Safe Space in an environment where patrons can have a conversation with Safe Space volunteers openly about suicide and other life challenges in a supported way.
