The Wakefield Rotary Club is thrilled to announce its newest environmental recycling project: Junk in the Trunk. On Saturday, October 26th, pre-registered vehicles will park in the Lazarus Center for Healing Shrine (formally St. Florence Church) in Wakefield from 10:00am-12:00pm. Participants will open their trunks full of items for others to take. As Wakefield Rotary Club President Wendy Maguire said, “One person’s trash is another’s treasure. This is a great opportunity to clean out your home of those unwanted items and offer them to people in attendance.” The unwanted items can then be “shopped” by attendees at no cost. Items will not be sold but rather swapped or taken. Items that are left after the event will be boxed and recycled on-site by the Epilepsy Foundation. Maguire added, “The idea is that if people don’t want your stuff, you still get to go home with an empty vehicle knowing your items were put to good use.”Register a vehicle at: https://wakefieldrotaryclub.org/junkinthetrunk/
