Cape Girardeau Junior River Bandits would love for you to join us at our recruitment night on Tuesday, January 28th from 6pm-8pm at the Shawnee Park Center. Informational meeting will start at 6:30pmNew skaters will start out learning everything they need to know about skating. As they progress, they will learn how roller derby is played, and eventually level up their skills in to playing games and scrimmages. (Starting out these will be no contact games) Come out on the 28th for an informational meeting, meet the team, ask questions, and learn all about who we are. If your child has all of the appropriate gear listed below, they will be able to participate in practice after the meeting.
*JR derby is open to all children between the ages of 7-17
*all levels of skating experience welcome
*Skaters will need a boil and bite mouthguard. We highly suggest a Sisu mouthguard (available on Amazon).
*Also needed: quad skates (NO ROLLER BLADES), an approved helmet type, knee pads, wrist guards, and elbow pads.
*An adult needs to accompany the child the first night to sign appropriate papers and understand the dynamics of participation.
