In partnership with Wausau Noon Optimist, Trapp River Golf Course, and Chatterbox Charities we are excited to offer this Junior Golf Program to the kids of the Wausau Area. Ages 8-10: 9:00am-10:30 am
Ages 11-13: 11 am-12:30 pm
Eligibility: These clinics are open to young players aged 8-13 years of age who are NEW to golf.
We encourage siblings and friends to join the program together. Learning is always more fun with a friend! Players may request to be paired with a friend(s) or sibling(s) in their age group session during the online signup process.
Program Target Participant: The program is intended to be an introduction to golf for young players who have little or no experience playing golf. The training will be at a beginner level and is not recommended for players who have been in previous junior golf programs or have already been playing on a golf course.
Program Goals: Our goal is to introduce golf to young players in a fun and informative way with an emphasis on learning golf from the hole backward to the tee using a combination of instruction and fun games. There will be an emphasis on teaching our participants how to play golf while also learning some of the basic rules, etiquette, and sportsmanship that make golf a great lifetime sport. The weeklong camp will conclude with an opportunity for our golfers to try their newly learned skills in a 5-hole scramble golf round on the course on Friday.
Golf Clubs: Participants are not required to have their own clubs. They may share with a friend who is participating in the program or we will have a limited supply of available clubs to use for the participants.
