Hardin County teens (13-17) are invited into the emergency service world. Participate in hands-on firefighting activities.About this Event
Camp Attendance Requirements:
- Hardin County Residents ONLY! **You must live in Hardin County for at least 7 months out of the year to attend.
- Age 13 - 17, age 12 permitted on a case-by-case basis with office approval
- Review and agree to Cell Phone, Conduct, Cancelation, and Dress Code Policies
During the Junior Firefighter Camp participants are involved in many age-appropriate activities such as, but not limited to:
- History of the Hardin County Fire Department
- Meeting other emergency service agencies
- Fire safety and prevention scenarios.
- Learning basic First Aid and CPR.
- Kitchen/Grease Fires - Learning to use a fire extinguisher.
- Engine and Apparatus Familiarization
- Drafting, dump tanks, and hose line advancement
- Tool Recognition and Races
- Trailer Maze
- PPE & Conducting Interior Search and Rescues
- Special Operations: Diving, Drones, and K9 SAR
- Tying rope & knots, forcible entry, and more!
