DESCRIPTION
The Junior Chefs Cooking Program is a monthly Therapeutic Recreation initiative tailored for neurodivergent youth aged 10-19. Participants will engage in hands-on cooking experiences, learning culinary skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Taking cooking classes is highly beneficial for children and youth as it equips them with essential life skills, fostering independence and self-sufficiency. Through hands-on experience, they learn about nutrition, which can lead to healthier eating habits and a greater appreciation for diverse foods. Cooking also encourages creativity and problem-solving as they experiment with ingredients and recipes. Additionally, these classes promote teamwork and communication when working in groups, enhancing their social skills. Overall, cooking classes provide a fun and educational way to develop practical skills that will serve them well throughout their lives.
