Camp Description
We're ready for a snow day! Join us for our cozy winter baking camp for budding bakers ages 9-14. Your young pastry chef will gain hands-on experience learning to make a variety of sweet treats perfect for the winter season. Chef Laura will share essential baking tips like measuring, dough mixing and prepping, ingredient usage, and baking temperatures and equipment in a fun and welcoming environment.
Chef Laura will be showing us how to make a breakfast staple- sweet and savory scones! We're starting off with sweet scones filled with fresh fruit, chocolate chips, and dried fruits. Then we are switching to a savory version of cheddar and ham. Perfect for any cold winter morning. Next we're diving into pies with mini mixed berry pies! These are easy and fun ways to experience pie 101- from how to prepare our crust to learning about baking times and prepping filling.
On Day 2 we are showing our pastry chefs how to create yummy blueberry muffins with a tasty crunchy streusel topping. These showstoppers make for an impressive baked good to share with families (if they make it home!). Last we will make the classic Snickerdoodle cookie. Snickerdoodles are deceptively easy to make and are a fantastic cookie for beginners to master.
