Juneteenth Liberation Celebration
Join the City of North Miami Beach in partnership with the Black Professionals Network for the Juneteenth Liberation Celebration!
Run of Day
9 am – 11 am “Unity in the Community” hosted by Miami-Dade NAACP
We start the day with a community conversation hosted by the Miami-Dade NAACP Chapter with community leaders on the importance of unity and collaboration. “If you want to go far, go together.”
11 am – History of Juneteenth by Matthew Pigatt
Then we take you along a journey to learn the origin story of Juneteenth, its significance, and its importance in American history by award-winning historian Matthew A. Pigatt.
12:30 pm – Road to Economic Freedom by Bilal S. Little
Then let’s imagine what can we accomplish right now, as we lay a new narrative of liberation and prosperity with a Keynote presentation by the award-winning speaker, business leader, and philanthropist Bilal S. Little.
2 pm to 5 pm – Liberation Celebration Social, food by Shuckin’ n Jivin’
We close out the day with a liberation celebration social, fit for all to enjoy. Enjoy commemorative gifts and activities while enjoying the delicious food of Shukin and Jivin.
