Currently, Lincoln hosts many activities and celebrations for Juneteenth from multiple organizations and groups; one of these organizations associated with celebrating Juneteenth is BlackisBeautifulNE (BIBNE).
Founded by Zainab Funnah, BlackisBeautifulNE is a non-profit organization founded to uplift black representation through visual statements and community connection enabling the next generation to succeed. BIBNE will be hosting our second Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration.
The celebration is free of charge and will host local Black Artists, Black Business Owners/Vendors, and Black Founded/Run Non-Profits along with music and opportunities for lots of family fun. We are hopeful to gain community support and engagement to increase knowledge about the holiday.
The event is made possible by the support of sponsors, personal donations, and a countless number of volunteers that together continue to focus on sharing about the importance of representation in Nebraska and support BIBNE's goals to provide annual scholarships for the advancement of youth in our community.
